One Area Of Practice. One Passion.
Criminal Defense
Being arrested by the police and taken to the County Jail can easily be established as one of the most stressful and miserable experiences of a person’s life. Whether it’s their first arrest or their 15th, EVERYONE has the right to a good defense and to feel like they are not alone. In her criminal law practice, Ty’s biggest goal is to get her Clients’ lives back as they were before this nightmare began…or maybe better! In her 12 years of criminal law practice on the State’s side, Ty has witnessed thousands of peoples’ “worst night of their life” and there is not much that surprises her in this field. She is very experienced in negotiating with opposing parties and excels in trying cases before a jury.
If at the conclusion her negotiations with the prosecutor, she and her client believe that trial is our best option, Ty will be ready and willing to pick a jury and argue their best defense for an acquittal. Although she cannot guarantee any result, she is prepared to offer her top-notch defense for even the toughest of cases from misdemeanor thefts, assaults, domestic violence crimes, and DWI’s to felonies like fraud, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, drug offenses, white collar crime, murder and everything in between.
In Travis County, the last 9 years of Ty’s law practice has been heavily focused on learning DWI laws and all that goes into a DWI arrest and prosecution. She has lived and breathed handling drunk driving cases; dealing with hundreds of simple to fascinatingly complex DWI trial issues. She is extremely familiar with police training and field sobriety tests, the science of blood alcohol concentration toxicology, the cross-examinations of experts, the closing arguments and jury selections of tough DWI trials and she knows what the prosecutors will think of the strength of any case. If there is a weakness in the State’s case, she will find it. And she will fight it.
